Part three of a four-part series on the value of a CPA, an estate planning attorney, and a financial advisor throughout the different stages of life.  This session is geared toward individuals with older children, those who have clear financial goals, and are working toward building and maintaining wealth while minimizing taxes.

Here are some issues that will be covered, time permitting:

  • What can a CPA do for me that Turbo Tax can’t?
  • Why do I need an estate plan? Won’t my spouse get everything?
  • We are ready to upgrade our starter home, how much house can we afford?
  • Should I buy investment property or stocks?
  • I max out my 401k and IRA. How else can I save for the future?
  • What type and how much insurance do I need?
  • How much do I need to retire?

Part 4: Aging Parents

The last part of a four-part series on the value of a CPA, an estate planning attorney, and a financial advisor throughout the different stages of life.  This session is geared toward those nearing retirement age or caring for aging parents. 
 
Here are some issues that will be covered, time permitting:
  • Why is "retirement" such a turning point?
  • When do I have to start taking retirement, pension, or social security distributions? Is it all taxable?
  • Will Medicare insurance cover all my health care needs or will I need additional coverage?
  • What options are there to help if my parents are unable to care for themselves?
  • My parents want to give me their house. Can they just add me on title?
  • What is gift tax and when does that need to be filed?
  • Do I have to pay tax on any gifts or inheritance I receive?
  • How do I maximize leaving assets for my beneficiaiaries while minimizing taxes?
